Further information
Melaugh’s paintings draw upon ideas surrounding identity, supressed individuality and deceiving appearances. Dark tones and fragments of otherworldly images are used to explore ideas surrounding entrapment and isolation with influence taken from poetry and literature. Living Doll draws upon ideas surrounding identity, also inspired by Sylvia Plath, the painting conveys the creation of a new identity out of fragmented pieces. The painting reflects rebirth through a sense of self reflection and transformation.
