Katherine St. Angelo

Katherine St. Angelo is a successful emerging artist. Originally from the United States, she now lives and works in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Her work has been showcased at numerous exhibitions in the region and beyond, and it is held in both private and public collections, including at the World Museum in Liverpool (England).

Her work explores the relationship we have with our environment and how it is uniquely tied to our own ‘emotional landscape’. Using painting and mixed media (textiles, printmaking, collage and recycled materials) she creates figurative or semi-abstract landscapes that are a portrayal of her own memories. The forms, impressions and sense of the landscapes encapsulate moments in time, thoughts, feelings and emotions....

Her pieces reflect a perspective, centred around her own identity, that through the creative process evolves into narratives. Although her work deals with her own memories and sense of belonging, each piece seeks to elicit a universal resonance to landscape and our innate connection to it.
