Further information
About this work - Part of the series of works on paper From the Cutting Mat, that combines references to sewing patterns and dressmaking processes, with the form of a fragmented body. This series explores ideas around resilience of mind and body in response to life experiences and echoes ideas of transformation, and adjustments and deep emotional resonance through the use of primordial colour.
Sharon Kelly is a member of the Royal Ulster Academy, and the recipient of many prestigious awards. Kelly works across 2 and 3D processes. She is concerned with the body, with marking and mapping both the physical and psychological, exploring themes of fragility, resilience, liminality and transformation.
